Now available for Windows NT! DIOSERVER controls Digital I/O from your DDE Clients. It allows you to monitor pushbuttons, control relays and other ON/OFF type equipment directly from your computer very simply and extremely cost effectively! DIOSERVER is a server program, which allows you to set outputs and read inputs of a digital I/O board using any Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) compliant application (DDE Client). Among the most popular DDE Clients are Microsoft Excel, Access, Visual Basic, ProComm, Wonderware, Rockwell Software's RS-View and RS-JunctionBox. DIOSERVER supports a variety of digital boards based on 82C55 digital I/O chip. Those boards are manufactured by ComputerBoards, Keithley Metrabyte , and Omega (as well as others) starting from 24 input/outputs up to 192 input/outputs (per board). Currently, DIOSERVER supports up to 4 digital boards, which means you can use up to 768 input/outputs per computer. DIOSERVER is written with the help of RSServer Toolkit, published by Rockwell Software. It supports four DDE message formats: Advanced DDE, FastDDE, XL_Table, CF_Text Board prices vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. They are generally available for $2 to $5.00 per I/O point. DIO Server is now available in 16-bit and 32-bit versions for Windows 3.1, Windows 95/98 and Windows NT.
